Mahakali, Palden Lhamo Thangka Painting with Brocade

In this thangka, we have presented Mahakali (also known as Palden Lhamo) in her majestic posture. The intricate back foundation of clouds, mountains, rocks, and streams mix perfectly into the heart of Mahakali, Palden Lhamo. It makes the whole picture eye-pleasing. For a practitioner like you, this thangka will be useful to inspire your practice. Its small size makes it easy to place in the shrine.

Mahakali, Palden Lhamo is the wrathful aspect of the peaceful goddess Sarasvati (Yang Chenma). She is generally a protector and is likewise used for divination rituals. Any genuine undertaking of her practice is always done with a self-visualization of some wrathful form of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. Most Tibetan ancestries have some form of this deity, commonly found in Gelugpa and Sakya paintings.
