Buddhist Yidam Vajrakilaya Thangka Print
Yidam Vajrakilaya, the Buddha Vajrasattva's wrathful form, is shown in the Thangka print. He carries the phurba or Kila dagger, is his defining iconographic attribute. Vajrakilaya is usually depicted as a crown of skulls with three colored faces. The central face is blue, with red and white on the left and right fronts. He is portrayed standing positing atop a sun disc lotus seat above the beautifulwhich green hills and ambiance. Under his feet, he slams demons that represent obstructions to spiritual growth.

Vajrakilaya (also known as Vajrakumara) is the deity of the magical thundernail, the kla, an instrument of dharmakaya, a wisdom forded via the force of one-pointed focus. This 'one-pointed' attention is a conscious awareness of all dharmas' interconnectedness and interdependence. 'Applying oneself totally' is how this single-minded focus is described. The Nyingmapa worships Vajrakilaya, a tantric archetypal god who is revered by the Nyingmapa. This empty yet apparent deity's magnificent and wrathful manifestation aids practitioners in removing impediments to enlightenment.
