White Tara, Tibetan Thangka Painting

White Tara is known as Female Buddha in the Buddhist tradition. White Tara appears in the form of a female bodhisattva and goddess for the benefit of every living being. In her white form, she appears specifically for the purpose of granting longevity.

White Tara is seated crossed-legged on the lotus and moon seat and holds her hand in the same pose as Green Tara. Her special attributes are her seven eyes, the third eye on her forehead, four eyes on the palms of her hand, and the sole of her feet.

At Enlightenment, we have done the following Buddhist text and iconography detail. If you are thinking about White Tara then this thangka will be good for you.

May the blessings of Mother Tara be there for your Long Life and Good Health!
