Thangtong Gyalpo, also known as Lama Chakzampa, a prominent figure in Tibetan history. He lived in the 14th and 15th centuries, he was a renowned Tibetan Buddhist master, yogi, and engineer. He is particularly famous for his skills in building iron chain suspension bridges across the rugged terrain of Tibet. These bridges were essential for facilitating trade and travel in the region.
Beyond his engineering feats, Thangtong Gyalpo was also a highly accomplished spiritual teacher, known for his expertise in the teachings of the Vajrayana tradition. He is credited with founding several monasteries and retreat centers throughout Tibet.
