Five Dhyani Buddha Mandala | Vintage Handmade Thangka Painting
$2,752.00 $2,201.60
Five Dhyani Buddha Mandala We have had this Thangka in our collection for over 20 years now. This thangka was stored away for several years. We just very recently decided to showcase our vintage thangka collection on platforms such as Etsy. We were thrilled to discover the quality and depth of these beautiful thangkas when we unveiled them and decided to showcase them online for everyone. In early 2000 we changed our company name from J.B.Art Center to Ritual Thanka and focused primarily on collecting and selling thangka paintings. Due to Covid 19, we have had to change our business strategy and focus more on online platforms. We hope the aesthetics of these vintage statues brings a deep sense of happiness to your hearts. Mandala literally means a circle . The tibetan word for mandala is Kyilkhor , which means “center and surrounding environment .” In simple terms it is a circle used as a visual aid for concentration and introversive meditation . Meditating using a mandala leads to the attainment of insights and it helps to increase one’s level of concentration . It also helps to activate forces within oneself which culminates into “Siddhi ” or super – natural forces . The mandala is the graphic representation of this process . It is not only theoretical but practical as an operational scheme involving a clear plan for practical realization of the process within oneself . It thus becomes an instrument ( Yantra ) . It is believed that by just looking at a mandala one’s soul is spiritually purified. Thus , a mandala represents the palace of purity a magic circle cleansed of spiritual obstacles and impurities . The square of the sacred palace is enclosed in multiple circles of flame, vajra and lotus . These three circles forming the outer rims of the mandala symbolizes enlightenment , which the meditating person must gain , before he or she can enter the illuminated palace . The mandala then consists of the inner square where the deity of the mandala resides . The outer most circle or the fire circle also known as the Fire of wisdom Consists of the purifying fire . The diamond circle or the vajra circle expresses strength and fearlessness and finally the lotus circle expresses the open state of devotion , that is necessary to enter the palace . These three elements denotes the state of mind that the follower or the person meditating must possess before practicing the dharma . ------------------------------------------------------------------ Size with Brocade:47" /119 cm (width) x 62"/158 cm (height)Canvas Size : 24"/61 cm (width) x 32"/81 cm (height)Materials: Cotton Canvas, Acrylic Colors, Genuine 24K Gold ------------------------------------------------------------------ THIS THANGKA IS HAND-PAINTED IN THE TRADITIONAL STYLE AND THE QUALITY IS HIGH

Wheel of Life Thangka | Oil Varnished Painting | Wall Decors
$433.00 $346.40
Wheel of Life Thangka Introduction To The Thangka : According to the ancient texts, the original model for the Wheel of life was painted over the gateway of the Veluvana Bihara at Rajagriha on the instructions of the Buddha himself, who indicated exactly how the work should be done. The Buddha was inspired by the activities of one of his chief disciples, Maudgalyayana. Thanks to his mastery of psychic powers, Maudgalyayana was able to visit all beings in the different realms of existence, and to see them in different states of pain or pleasure; as a result, he became aware of the causes of these different states. The Buddha realized that there were not enough people like Maudgalyayana to teach all those who needed to hear his teaching. He, therefore, instructed his disciples to paint the Wheel of Life, a depiction of the different realms of existence, and their underlying processes, at the entrance to every monastery. The picture is not strictly a literal account of worldly existence but is effective in that it appeals to our imagination with its rich and powerful imagery.
