Avalokiteshvara Chenresig Thangka
Introduction To The Thangka :
Lokeshvara wears all of the jewelry, such as earrings and bracelets. He also wears an antelope hide over his shoulders and wields numerous weapons. Lokeshvara is a cosmic manifestation of Avalokiteswara, having eleven heads and a thousand limbs. He wears a monastic robe and is decorated with all six gems.
Lokeshvara is also the spiritual father of White Tara and Green Tara, who were supposed to be produced from his two drops of tears when he witnessed sentient creatures in misery and suffering. They are all boddhisattvas (saints who liberate sentient beings from sorrow and suffering) who have major positions among the Tibetan Deities.
