Introduction To The Thangka :
The god 4 Armed Chenrezig is shown in this Chenrezig thangka (Avalokitesvara). Avalokitesvara is a combination of the verbal prefix ava "down," lokita "observe," and lastly isvara "lord." As a result, Chenrezig is the most revered 'Bodhisattva' who embodies all Buddha's compassion. Chenrezig hears our prayers in times of struggle and stress.
In a Buddhist narrative, Chenrezig never swears to rest until he has managed to rescue all human beings from the world (Samsara), but his mission is daunting despite his best efforts. As a result, his arms are ripped apart in his attempts to reach out to so many screams of anguish, making him far more inclined to aid others in need.
How to take care of your thangka?
-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
