Buddhist Altar Stupa
About Our Stupa
The Buddhist Altar Stupa is a revered representation of enlightenment, serenity, and spiritual elevation. It is carefully made of copper and beautifully plated. This 22-cm-tall handcrafted stupa is a physical representation of the grace and peace of God, providing followers with a center for prayer, meditation, and introspection in their hallowed places.
The altar stupa, which is an essential part of Buddhist rites and ceremonies, has great spiritual significance since it symbolizes the road to ultimate liberation and the enlightened mind. It reminds followers of the Buddha's teachings on compassion, wisdom, and the interdependence of all beings by being present in homes, monasteries, and temples. It also acts as a beacon of spiritual advice.
Introduction To Stupa :
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated but sometimes buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base represents his crossed legs as he sat meditatively. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
