Description
A set of thangka prints featuring Manjushri, Chenresig, and Vajrapani includes three individual thangkas, each showcasing one of these important figures in Tibetan Buddhism:
Manjushri: Manjushri is the bodhisattva associated with wisdom, intellect, and learning. He is often depicted wielding a flaming sword in his right hand, representing the sharpness of wisdom that cuts through ignorance, and a lotus flower supporting the Perfection of Wisdom sutra in his left hand.
Chenresig (Avalokiteshvara): Chenresig is the bodhisattva of compassion. He is usually depicted with four arms, symbolizing his ability to reach out to those in need. His first two hands are clasped together in prayer, while the other two hold a crystal rosary and a lotus flower.
Vajrapani: Vajrapani is a bodhisattva who embodies the energy of the enlightened mind and is associated with power and protection. He is often depicted in wrathful form, symbolizing his ability to overcome obstacles and protect practitioners on the path to enlightenment. He is typically shown holding a vajra (thunderbolt) in one hand and a lasso in the other, ready to subdue negative forces.
