Sacred Dukar Thangka | Manifestation of the Bodhisattva Tara | Sitatapatra, White Umbrella Goddess
It is a hand-painted image of Dukar Thangka—Goddess of the White Umbrella.” The painting is created on fine cotton canvas using natural stone colors derived from minerals such as lapis lazuli, malachite, and azurite, ensuring its authenticity. Genuine 24K gold is used to highlight divine elements, symbolizing purity, enlightenment, and spiritual attainment. It is executed in the traditional Karma Gadri style, known for its attention to detail, balanced composition, and vibrant colors.
At the heart of the artwork is Protector Dukkar, with the Three Brother Lords—the Mahakalas—at her sacred feet. As the White Umbrella Goddess, Protector Dukkar is a powerful female deity in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. Her strength is evident in her thousand heads, arms, and legs, each with eyes at the center of her hands and the soles of her feet. Each head has three eyes, and she stands proudly in a halo of wisdom's fire, her many legs crushing the enemies of spiritual achievement—anger, greed, delusions, and more. Despite her delicate beauty, Sitatapatra's indomitable spirit is evident. This combination has made her practice beloved to Buddhists across Asia and established her as a staple in every Tibetan Buddhist sect. It is not only a stunning artwork but also a powerful spiritual tool, perfect for bringing sacred energy, protection, and insight into one's home or practice space. It serves as a visual masterpiece and a holy object for meditation and reflection.
