Machig Labdron Chod, Buddhist Painting Thangka Of Yogini
Machig Labdron, also known as "The One Mother," is the founder of Tibetan Buddhism's Chod 'Cutting' Tradition. The Buddhist Painting Thangka portrays her right hand upraised, carrying a double-sided drum (damaru), while her left hand is a bell turned upward with the aperture facing upward. She can present herself in one of two ways. The first is a deity, dressed as a serene goddess with the jewels and robes of a goddess and standing in a dance stance with the left leg down. The second most popular style is sitting, with or without exquisite jewels and divine clothing.
