This thangka showcases exceptional craftsmanship and serves as a meaningful spiritual symbol, making it ideal for your home, meditation area, or altar. Its vibrant colors and sacred imagery bring together a rich history of Tibetan Buddhist teachings.
Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, is one of the most revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism. As the embodiment of wisdom, knowledge, and insight, Manjushri is depicted holding a sword and the Prajnaparamita Sutra, symbolizing the cutting of ignorance and the pursuit of enlightenment. Many practitioners seek his ability to impart clear wisdom and understanding on their journey to enlightenment and awakening. Manjushri is considered the patron of scholars, sages, and those seeking profound knowledge, and his wisdom is regarded as a guide for both spiritual and intellectual growth.
In this thangka, Manjushri is depicted at the center, seated in a meditative posture on a lotus throne, surrounded by White Tara, Dzambhala, and Mitrupa. White Tara, the goddess of compassion and longevity, is shown to the right, radiating serene and peaceful energy, with a calming presence that complements Manjushri’s wisdom. To the left of Manjushri, Dzambhala sits as a protector and guardian of wealth, holding the power to grant material and spiritual abundance. Above them, Mitrupa, a revered Tibetan master, is depicted, symbolizing the transmission of teachings and spiritual mastery.
Each figure is carefully outlined in gold, with vibrant Lhasa stone colors bringing its unique qualities to life. The use of 24K gold highlights the divine energy of each figure, adding a sacred glow to the thangka. Painted in our studio in Kathmandu, Bouddha, Nepal, it is an original thangka that reflects the depth of Tibetan Buddhist traditions passed down through generations of Karma Gadri artists.
