Sankha Mandala Thangka
The Oil Turned Dark. One of Buddhism's eight auspicious symbols, the conch shell, is shown in the sacred painting known as the Sankha Mandala Thangka. The thangka is made by a conventional method that entails painting on cotton canvas using natural colors before covering it with an oil varnish. The oil varnish helps to protect the painting from deterioration while also giving it luster and depth.
The conch shell is generally represented in vivid tones of white and red, while the Sankha Mandala Thangka is encircled by elaborate motifs and symbols. The bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara, is frequently linked to the thangka.
