Note: Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio located at Boudha Stupa.
Shakyamuni Buddha, recognized as the historical Buddha and the progenitor of Buddhist philosophy, is commonly addressed as "the Buddha." Within the Buddhist faith, each "Kalpa" (Buddhist eon) is believed to host its own Buddha, whose teachings gradually diminish until the advent of the next enlightened being. Shakyamuni Buddha, presumed to have lived around 420 BC, devoted much of his time to disseminating the teachings of Dharma. The Life of Buddha Thangka provides a detailed visual narrative of his life, portraying him not only as a historical figure but also as a revered role model, mentor, and source of inspiration. The concepts of "dharma," signifying spiritual beliefs, and "sangha," denoting the Buddhist community, are considered instrumental in ensuring his continued presence on Earth.
