Wisdom Bodhisattva Manjushri
Introduction To The Thangka :
Manjushri is Calm, Glorious, and Melodious, and he encompasses all the unfathomable wisdom of the Buddhas. His skin is a brilliant orange color, and in his right hand, he holds a blazing sword of wisdom, while on his left he holds a lotus flower stem on which there rested a book of the Perfection of Wisdom sutras. His two-edged sword slashes through misconceptions, clearly defining the difference between how things appear to be independent and how they actually are interconnected. The Kathmandu Valley in Nepal was drained by Manjushri, who also spread the Buddha's teachings there while making it suitable for human settlement.
How to take care of your thangka?
-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
