Behind him, a flaming halo ignites with intense energy, signifying his wrathful force that burns away ignorance and obstacles. He is shown in alidhasana, the dynamic stance of trampling posture, pressing down all forms of negativity beneath him. Vajrapani is crowned with five skulls, representing the transformation of the five inner poisons into enlightened wisdom. A serpent-like sash flows from his neck to his abdomen, and a third eye on his forehead indicates his awakened perception.
