Yamantaka, also Known as Vajrabhairava, is a fierce, buffalo-headed meditational deity of Vajrayana Buddhism. In the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, he is considered one of the principal meditational deities, including Chakrasamvara and Guhyasamaja. Even though Yamantaka was practiced from the early days in Tibet, Je Tsongkhapa introduced him as the main deity of Gelug tradition.
