Buddhist Mandala Print
About Our Print:
During meditation, one envisions a palace similar to the one depicted in the mandala. Each item of furniture in the palace has significance, representing a facet of knowledge or acting as a reminder to the meditationist of a guiding principle. The mandala's purpose is to aid in the healing and enlightenment of ordinary minds.
There are several types of mandalas based on the attributes of the central god. The Dhyani Buddha Mandala is the most traditional pattern. This thangka depicts the Buddha Mandala. The Mandala represents the "palace of purity," a magical sphere cleansed of all spiritual impurities. This map illustrates the Map of a Mind (teaching of Buddha).
How does Thangka benefit us?
It goes without saying that every detail of a painting has a symbolic meaning. Regardless of your religious affiliation, a thangka can help you on your path to enlightenment, whether you practice Buddhism or have other religious convictions. Thangkas are paintings that depict deities with various iconographic elements and symbolism that encourage meditation on the teachings of the god they depict. Any thangka is intended to aid in the removal of the film of ignorance, which is a significant barrier to the road to enlightenment.
