Chenrezig is one of the most popular Bodhisattva in Vajrayana. Chenrezig Thangka is used to do visual meditation practice to develop a calm, kind, and compassionate heart. Compassion is the root foundation for excelling in the Buddhist path.In this thangka, Chenrezig is placed at the center of the thangka. He has four arms, the first two hands are at his heart in a devotion gesture. His right hand holds a crystal rosary and his left-hand holds a lotus symbolizing compassion. This is also the traditional approach used in Tibetan Thangka paintings.
