Description
Kalachakra Mandala Thangka
Intoduction To The Thangka :
Kalachakra mandala is the “Palace of Purity,” with more than seven hundred deities residing inside, represented by various signs and symbols. The entrances of the palace nearest to the center are said to be cittachakra(mind-wheels), and the middle entrances are said to be vakchakra(voice-wheels).
Buddhists hang these kinds of mandalas at different parts of the home, like an altar, living room, dining room, study room, yoga room, etc., because they believe that not only recitation but also merely looking upon it will generate compassion and merit to viewers.
Mandala thangka painting is believed to bring internal peace and prosperity to oneself and family.
A mandala is a geometric pattern of squares & concentric circles as a projection of the cosmos.
