Original Hand-Painted Lokeshvara and White Tara Mandala Thangka
Original Hand-Painted Lokeshvara, White Tara, and Manjushri Mandala Thangka:
A mandala is a tool for meditation or a contemplative object used to illustrate various aspects of Buddha’s teachings, meditative instruction, or the cosmological representation of the pure microcosm (pure mandala) of the deity.
Buddhism holds great regard for Lokeshvara, also called Avalokiteshvara, a Bodhisattva who personifies kindness and compassion. Lokeshvara is a well-known character in Mahayana Buddhism. Multiple arms and eyes are frequently used in his depictions to represent his general compassion and capacity to help anyone in need. "Om Mani Padme Hum," the mantra connected to Lokeshvara, brings up the essence of compassion and enlightenment. Because Lokeshvara is thought to be able to hear the cries of the afflicted world, devotees go to him for direction and comfort. The brief and charming portrayal of Lokeshvara highlights his fundamental function in Buddhist rituals, stressing the transformational power of compassion as a means of achieving enlightenment.

The White Tara or “White Saioress” is said to have been born from a tear of the Bodhisattva of compassion. She holds a very prominent position in Tibet.
Here White Tara is seen seated on a lotus throne. Her body is white and she is seated in the vajra posture. Her left hand, which is placed on her heart, holds the stem of a blossoming lotus beside her left shoulder. Her right hand is in Varadamudra, symbolizing supreme generosity. She is wearing all six ornaments and looks like a beautiful sixteen-year-old maiden. She has seven eyes, two in the palms of her hand, two in the soles of her feet, and one on her forehead.
