Ritual Flaying Knife

About The Ritual Item :

The Kartika is a Handcrafted copper body with 24K Gold plated, embedded with turquoise coral. For the lead of the vajra and the crescent shape blade, crystal stones were used. The mantra is crafted on the blade. Kartika is a ceremonial Buddhist ritual weapon that resembles a half-moon knife or chopper and is topped with a Vajra that serves as a handle for the knife. The Vajra-topped curved knife, also known as the flaying knife, is also referred to as the 'knife of the dakinis.'

Kartika's Knife represents the separation of all material and earthly ties, whereas the vajra represents eliminating ignorance and opening the door to enlightenment.

Introduction To The Kartika Knife :

While the Kartika is used in many Buddhist rituals, generally in connection with the kapala (skullcap), it is especially essential in the Tibetan practice of Chöd, a ritual involving self-sacrifice in which the practitioner visualizes their own body as an offering at a tantric feast. The Kartika is also famous for its use in the Tibetan sky burial ritual, in which the bodies of the dead are cut into small pieces and left on top of special gats or burial platforms for the vultures to consume. Unexpectedly, the Kartika is also used in Feng Shui practice.
