According to Buddhist mythology, the Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru, attained Buddhahood countless eons ago. As the story goes, he was once a bodhisattva named Dharmakara, who made a series of vast and compassionate vows to alleviate the suffering of all sentient beings. Through his unwavering dedication and practice, he accumulated immeasurable merit and wisdom over many lifetimes. Eventually, he perfected his spiritual path and became a fully enlightened Buddha. The Medicine Buddha's primary vow was to guide and heal beings afflicted by physical and mental ailments, offering them the antidote to suffering. He attained profound knowledge of the healing arts and became the embodiment of pure compassion and enlightened healing energy. As a result, he emerged as the Medicine Buddha, a divine archetype and source of inspiration for devotees seeking healing, well-being, and spiritual liberation.
