Tibetan Buddhist Stupa
About The Ritual Item :
The Stupa is a sacred Buddhist monument that represents the Buddha's enlightenment and the path to spiritual awakening. This particular Stupa is made of copper and has been masterfully crafted into a one-of-a-kind and intricate design. The surface's silver plating adds a brilliant shine, elevating its aesthetic appeal. A deity has been intricately carved inside the Bhumba, or central structure of the Stupa, adding spiritual significance to the piece. The deity symbolizes enlightenment, and the Stupa serves as a reminder of the Buddha's teachings and the value of spiritual practice. This exquisitely crafted Stupa serves as both a decorative piece and a powerful symbol of Buddhism and its teachings.
Introduction To Stupa :
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated but sometimes buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
