Tibetan Stupa of Enlightenment
About Our Stupa
This finely carved Tibetan Buddhist Stupa, with a copper body plated in gold, is a powerful embodiment of the Enlightenment idea. Buddhism considers the stupa as a sacred symbol that represents the awakened mind and the path to enlightenment. Every piece in its design represents a significant part of Buddhist teachings, reflecting an evolution of spiritual awareness.
A magnificently engraved statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha who symbolizes enlightenment, stands at the heart of the stupa. This fine detail gives the sculpture depth and meaning, serving as a reminder of the Buddha's enlightenment path in addition to being a spiritual representation.
This stupa, which measures 23.5 cm in height by 11 cm in breadth and weighs 1.34 kg, is a graceful addition to any hallowed place. While its deep symbolism makes it a significant item for meditation, self-awareness and spiritual practice, its gold plating amplifies its aesthetic appeal.
Introduction To Stupa :
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated but sometimes buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base represents his crossed legs as he sat meditatively. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
