White Tara Thangka Painting
White Tara:
In Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara is worshipped and referred to as the "Mother of all Buddhas." A religious picture known as the White Tara Thangka shows White Tara in her unadulterated and serene form.
White Tara is seated on a lotus throne in the middle of the thangka with her right leg extended and her left leg drawn in. She has seven eyes, the third of which is located on her forehead and represents her fully awakened consciousness. Her left hand is holding a white lotus flower, a symbol of her purity and enlightenment, while her right hand is outstretched in a gesture of generosity.
There are numerous representations and symbols surrounding White Tara, including a picture of the Buddha, the Eight Auspicious Symbols, and other revered Buddhist images.
