Surrounded by the Bodhisattva's 1000 arms, this Chenrezig Avalokiteshvara Thangka is done on cotton canvas with natural stone colors and 24K gold. Revered as the embodiment of compassion in Tibetan Buddhism, the Bodhisattva is surrounded by 1000 arms in the thangka representing his ability to help all sentient beings in every possible way. In this particular thangka, the bodhisattva is depicted with 11 faces, each in their color: 4 faces in red, 3 in white, 3 in green, and 1 in black. He stands peacefully atop a moon disc lotus graced by a huge nimbus behind.

Given the significance of thangkas in Vajrayana Buddhist rituals, this magnificent thangka would make a wonderful gift for any devotee like yourself. It can be employed in various Buddhist rites and to gain merit.

Avalokitesvara, "One Who Looks With Unwavering Eye," is the most revered Bodhisattva and represents all Buddha's infinite compassion. His first two hands are joined, holding the "wish-fulfilling jewel." The second right arm holds the crystal beads(rosary), his second left arm holds a golden lotus with stem, and his third right and left each hold mudra of supreme giving and empowerment vase, respectively. He holds the wheel of knowledge in his fourth right arm while holding a bow and arrow in his fourth left arm. These implements combined include the 8 principal arms of 1000 armed Chenrezig.
