Description

Tibetan Gold Blue Medicine Buddha Thanka

This Blue Medicine Buddha Thangka is the result of the artistic hands of our very own artists. The painting is on cotton canvas with acrylic paint and 24K genuine gold. The Buddha is depicted in a blue or lapis lazuli complexion to symbolize his celestial nature. He holds a monk bowl full of the 'Fruit of Myrobalan' and Myrobalan plant in his left and right hands, respectively, representing his association with healing and medicine. He is seated upon a moon disc lotus seat, draped in monastic robes with a peaceful demeanor signifying him as a spiritual teacher.

Thangkas are an important component of Vajrayana Buddhist practices, so this brilliant piece is a perfect gift for any fellow devotee like yourself or can be used for other rituals and to gain merits.

Note: Medicine Buddha Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio located at Boudha Stupa.

The Lapis Healing Master is one of the most honored figures in the Buddhist pantheon. The sutras in which he appears compare his pure eastern land with the western paradise of Amitabha. Recitation of his mantra, or even the mere repetition of his holy name, is sufficient to grant release from the lower realms, protection from worldly dangers, and freedom from untimely death. In one of the main sutras concerning the Medicine Buddha, Shakyamuni tells his close disciple and attendant, Ananda.
