Note: Green Tara Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio, located at Boudha Stupa.
Green Tara is the female counterpart of Avalokiteshvara and is believed to be the Nepali princess, whereas the White Tara is said to be a Chinese princess. The Tibetan tradition maintains that Mother Tara incarnates in every pious woman. Some consider her the original Tara and the female consort of Amoghasiddhi, one of the Dhyani Buddhas.
