How does mold affect a Thangka?

Mold thrives in humid environments with little or no air movement. Mold will develop on a thangka in such an environment if it becomes moist or humid. This growth has the potential to harm the fabric, pigment, and binder. On the thangka, molds create a fuzzy covering.
