Tara is the fully enlightened female buddha. Tara is said to arise from the compassionate tears of Avalokiteshvara. She is the female manifestation of enlightenment in the Buddhist tradition. Following thangka practice, we develop strong feelings of joy, happiness, and closeness. Especially in the form of the Green Tara, Sengdeng Nagchi Drölma, she liberates sentient beings from the eight great fears.
