Guru Dorje Drollo is Padmasambhava's wrathful manifestation, one of his eight forms. Dorje Drollo's thangka shows him riding a wild, savage tigress through a flaming fire, trampling on a corpse on a bloody river. He has three big eyes and sharp teeth with a vajra in his right hand and a kilaya in his left. Guru Dorje Drollo is the crazy wrathful Buddha of the degenerate era. He has no regular pattern to his wrath. He is a manifestation of crazy wisdom. He is an ecstatic manifestation of Padmasambhava, the deity Dorje Drollo embodies the forces of insight and compassion beyond logic and convention. Invoking in the practitioner the fearlessness and spontaneity of the awakened state, Dorje Drollo transforms hesitancy and clinging into enlightened activity.
