Early in his youth, he was taught the principles of both privilege and repression. Milarepa's lyrical teachings have captivated the hearts of his followers and fans for almost a thousand years. Since his tremendous compassion prompted Bodhicitta and pushed him to reach Buddhahood to benefit all sentient beings, his life embodies the ideal Bodhisattva.
