Traditionlly Hand Painted Niguma Thangka Art

We have finely hand painted the thangka art of Niguma in traditional Karma Gadri Style. In this art, we have used genuine 24k gold to gild and acrylic color to paint in mesmerizing cotton canvas. You can utilize this artwork in your different meditation or yoga activities, for various indoor home decor purposes, and even in other Buddhist rituals. We have portrayed her seated on top of a sun disc lotus seat, holding a damaru in her right hand while a skull cup in her left hand. The elegant skulled crown, adorned with precious gemstones, illuminates her face, and the vibrant nimbus, plated with gold, encircled with fire flame is engulfing her. This meticulous artwork of a Nepali artist whose artisan has passed through generations will be a tremendous gift to a practitioner like you.

Note: Niguma Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio located at Boudha Stupa.

Niguma is considered one of India's most critical and influential yoginis and Vajrayana 10th or 11th-century teachers. She was a Dakini and one of the two female founders of the Shangpa Kagyu school of Vajrayana Buddhism and Dakini Sukhasiddhi. Like many Mahasiddhas and Mantrayana practitioners, Niguma was known by several names during her lifetime and afterward. She was called Yogini Vimalashri, or Vajradhara Niguma, or Jñana (wisdom) Dakini Adorned with Bone (ornaments), or The Sister referring to her purported relationship with the great Buddhist teacher and adept Naropa.
