Description
Traditional Tibetan Buddhist Shakyamuni Buddha Painting
The Shakyamuni Buddha painting is hand drawn on a cotton canvas using acrylic paintings and 24K gold. In the thangka, the deity is depicted seated in the center on a moon disc lotus seat with a crossed leg and a serene facial expression. His right hand is in the Bhumi-sparsa (earth touching) mudra, while his left hand rests on his lap, holding an alms bowl. The color scheme in the thangka are well harmonized. This medium-sized artwork would make a beautiful thangka for your shrine.

Shakyamuni Buddha, often known as "the Buddha," is the historical Buddha and the founder of Buddhist doctrine. Each "Kalpa" (Buddhist eon) is thought to have its own Buddha, whose teachings disappear when the next Buddha comes. He is believed to have lived about 420 BC and spread Dharma teachings most of his time.
