Description

Buddhist Bodhisattva Art Of The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara

The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara Thangka is hand-painted in our studio on a cotton canvas using poster colors. In this Thangka, we have depicted the deity seated on a moon disc lotus seat with four arms. His first two hands are clasped around his heart, palms together, holding a wish-fulfilling stone. His right hand's third hand is holding a crystal rosary, which represents knowledge. On his left hand, he has a lotus, which signifies compassion. To further highlight the features of the deity, we have used genuine 24K gold on the thangka. The gold brings out the deity into life-giving a lustrous shine. You can use this thangka painting for various purposes, such as in your regular meditation, Buddhist rituals, and even home décor.

Avalokiteshvara embodies the bodhisattva's determination to wait until he has helped every sentient being on Earth achieve freedom (moksha; literally, "relief") from pain (dukkha) and the cycle of death and rebirth before gaining Buddhahood (samsara). "The Lord Who Watches in All Directions" is how his name has been interpreted.
