Description
Traditional Yidam Vajrakilaya Thangka
This Vajrakilaya thangka was traditionally hand-painted in the Nakthang style. This artwork was painted by a Kathmandu Valley artisan using genuine 24k gold and acrylic colors. The art of Nepali thangka, which depicts Buddhism, has been passed down from generation to generation. This work of art, which is adorned with valuable jewels and pearls, took more than a month to accomplish. The use of contrasting black and gold tones in this thangka will enhance your meditation when practicing Vajrakilaya.

Note: Vajrakilya Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio located at Boudha Stupa.
Vajrakilaya (also known as Vajrakumara) is the deity of the magical thundernail, the kla, an instrument of dharmakaya, a wisdom forded via the force of one-pointed focus. This 'one-pointed' attention is a conscious awareness of all dharmas' interconnectedness and interdependence. 'Applying oneself totally' is how this single-minded focus is described. The Nyingmapa worships Vajrakilaya, a tantric archetypal god who is revered by the Nyingmapa. This empty yet apparent deity's magnificent and wrathful manifestation aids practitioners in removing impediments to enlightenment.
