Introduction To The Thangka :
White Tara is known as the Mother of All Buddhas because she is incredibly serene and contemplative. She is sitting in a meditation position, with watching compassion eyes on her forehead, palms, and soles of her feet. Her right hand is in an unconditional offering mudra (gesture), while her left hand is holding a blue utpala flower.
White Tara is well-known for bestowing long life and preventing life-threatening circumstances. Her approach is especially good for the elderly or those in need of healing.
How to take care of your thangka?
-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
