White Tara Goddess Thangka
About this Thangka:
Thangka paintings are Buddhist canvas paintings made with the use of gold and other natural colors, depicting Buddhist deities, scenes, or mandalas. We beautifully have hand-painted this thangka of Goddess White Tara with other Bodhisattvas. In the thangka, Tara is placed at the center, visibly making stand out in her radiating white body. Surrounded by high mountains and blue water falls-the painting is beautiful.
Introduction to Goddess White Tara:
White Tara is the female Bodhisattva of compassionate activity, the supreme mother and collective manifestation of the enlightened activity of all the Buddhas. She is said to see all suffering and respond to requests for help. Her yogic method promotes health and extends one's lifespan.
Tara is closely related to Chenrezig the Bodhisattva of Compassion. One story of her origin says that she was born from his compassionate tears.People also think of her as the female manifestation of him or his consort.
For any health related issues within Tibetan Himalayan community and among Vajrayana masters, practice of goddess White Tara is performed. In all the monasteries we can find special dedication and prayer to Mother Tara for our protection from sickness, disease, untimely death and accidents.
