Traditional White Tara Longevity Thangka | Seven Eyes Deity
The White Tara Longevity Thangka is a masterful depiction of one of Tibetan Buddhism’s most cherished figures. To capture the purity and brilliance of White Tara, the thangka is carefully hand-painted with natural stone colors and adorned with 24K gold. The traditional Karma Gadri style, an age-old method known for its skill and spiritual profundity, is used to create the thangka on premium cotton canvas.
White Tara is honored as the goddess of longevity, health, and compassion. According to tradition, she was born from the tears of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, representing his profound concern for all beings. Known for her calm and peaceful nature, White Tara is associated with healing, protection, and longevity. Her image offers comfort and divine energy, especially for those in pursuit of health, peace, and long life. In Tibetan Buddhism, she is invoked for safety from dangers and to assist in overcoming life's challenges. She represents compassion and the desire for all beings to have a long, fulfilling life. In this thangka, White Tara is shown with a serene expression, seated in vajra posture, symbolizing her commitment to compassion. She wears a five-jeweled crown, representing wisdom, and her lotus seat signifies purity. Her hands display Varada Mudra and Abhaya Mudra, embodying compassion and protection. Her eyes on her palms and soles represent her all-seeing nature, aware of suffering. The moon disc on her seat signifies enlightenment and wisdom.
