Tibetan Gold Colored Buddha Shakyamuni Thangka

This Buddha Shakyamuni Thangka is painted on a cotton canvas with Acrylic colors and genuine 24K Gold in the traditional Tibetan painting style of Karma Gadri by our professional artists. Revered as the historical Buddha, a halo surrounds his Ushnisha, a protuberance on the top of the head representing the Buddha's wisdom. The Buddha's elongated earlobes represent his previous life and symbolises his detachment from earthly possessions.

In the painting, the Buddha portrays the Bhumisparsha mudra, literally 'touching the Earth,' indicating the moment of the Buddha's awakening, claiming the earth as his witness of enlightenment. His radiant yellow body is draped with monk robes showing his monastic lifestyle as he sits atop a Moon Disc Lotus seat holding a monk bowl in his right hand.

Given the significance of thangkas in Vajrayana Buddhist rituals, this magnificent thangka would make a wonderful gift for any devotee like yourself. It can be employed in various Buddhist rites and to gain merit.

Shakyamuni Buddha, often known as "the Buddha," is the historical Buddha and the founder of Buddhist doctrine. Each "Kalpa" (Buddhist eon) is thought to have its own Buddha, whose teachings disappear when the next Buddha comes. He is believed to have lived about 420 BC and spread Dharma teachings most of his time.
