Description

4-Armed Chenrezig Buddha | Small Hand-Painted Thangka of the Compassionate Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara

The Thangka illustrates the 4-Armed Chenrezig, Buddha of Compassion or Avalokiteshvara. The deity is depicted with four arms, representing his limitless compassion and capacity to alleviate suffering. He sits elegantly on a lotus, exuding compassion and tranquility. In one hand, he holds a lotus flower, symbolizing purity and enlightenment, while his other hands grasp a mala (prayer beads) and several attributes signifying his commitment to safeguarding all sentient beings.

The painting is created on high-quality cotton canvas, which offers durability and flexibility. Cotton canvas has been used in Tibetan Thangkas for centuries, providing a surface that retains the vibrancy of colors and allows for fine details to be executed.

The colors used to create this Thangka are derived from natural stones, giving them a unique, radiant depth that lasts long. Genuine 24K gold is applied to the artwork to enhance its spiritual power. The gold is utilized for finer details, such as the intricate designs in the crown, jewelry, and surrounding elements. This adds a divine luminosity to the Thangka, making the figure of Chenrezig radiate compassion.
