Blue Medicine Buddha Thangka Art

Medicine Buddha is shown on this thangka art in blue, the color of Lapis Lazuli, as the Buddha's name suggests. In the Varadamudra motion, his right-hand clutches a piece of myrobalan (Latin Terminalia Chebula). His left hand is on his lap, holding a medicine-filled donation bowl. He is regarded as the source of all medical treatises in the Tibetan Medical Tradition.

Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaishajyaguru in Sanskrit, is regarded as the Buddha of Healing. His teachings aim to free sentient beings from sickness, pain, anguish, and unhappiness while also emphasizing the need to acquire prosperity and enjoyment in this life. Many meditators in the Mahayana tradition admire his healing abilities. He is frequently shown with a blue (lapis lazuli) body and hands carrying a begging bowl and medical herbs. This thangka will provide you with a lot of willpower for your practice.
