About Our Stupa :
The stupa is a wonderfully crafted copper-bodied handmade Buddhist shrine. The stupa has lovely patterns. The top contains thirteen umbrella wheels that are finely made, as well as additional carvings in a similar style.
Introduction To The Stupa :
Great teachers were buried in mounds before Buddhism. Some were cremated, but others were buried sitting in a contemplative manner. They were hidden behind the earthen mound. As a result, the stupa's domed shape came to depict a person seated in meditation, much like the Buddha was when he attained Enlightenment and understanding of the Four Noble Truths. The stupa's base depicts his crossed legs as he reclined in a contemplative attitude. The center of the mound depicts the Buddha's body, while the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the pinnacle and is surrounded by a little fence, represents his head. Before the development of depictions of the person Buddha, reliefs frequently represented practitioners exhibiting devotion to a stupa.
