Original Hand-Painted Chenrezig, Compassion Buddha | Bodhisattva of Protection for All Sentient Beings
Created on high-quality cotton canvas, this hand-painted thangka of Chenrezig, the Compassion Buddha, features vibrant colors made from finely ground minerals like lapis lazuli, malachite, and cinnabar. The genuine 24K gold highlights the details, adding depth and spiritual significance to the artwork. Painted in the traditional Karma Gadri style, known for its soft landscapes and elegant composition, this thangka combines skilled workmanship with devotional intent. It's a powerful painting for spiritual practice or sacred décor.
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, revered across Tibetan Buddhism as the embodiment of the compassionate nature of all Buddhas. With four arms, he represents the four immeasurable qualities: compassion, loving-kindness, empathetic joy, and equanimity. In this thangka, his central hands hold a wish-fulfilling jewel at his heart. In contrast, the others have a lotus flower and a crystal mala, symbolizing purity and continuous compassionate action. Seated on a lotus throne, radiating serenity, Chenrezig serves as a meditative focus for cultivating compassion and spiritual awakening.
