Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal Thangka | Cotton Canvas Art
Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal, a prominent disciple of Padmasambhava, is often viewed as the embodiment of wisdom and the supreme consort in the tantric practices of Vajrayana Buddhism. She sits quietly on a lotus seat upon a moon disc, symbolizing her pure and enlightened nature. Her white body represents clarity, wisdom, and the ability to eradicate ignorance. This artwork, carefully painted on cotton canvas with natural stone colors, captures the essence of the traditional Karma Gadri style. The use of pure 24K gold adds brilliant radiance to the deity, symbolizing his spiritual power.
A silk scarf that flows around her symbolizes her celestial, Dakini nature, while a crown adorned with five jewels represents the five wisdoms. She holds a kapala (skull cup) in her left hand, which signifies her understanding of emptiness and her ability to transform illusions into knowledge. Her right hand is positioned in the karana mudra, a gesture that dispels negativity and removes barriers. Anklets and jewels further embellish her body, highlighting the depth of her spiritual achievements.
