Female Bodhisattva Green Tara Brocade Thangka, Awakened Buddha
Green Tara takes the form of a female Bodhisattva and is a fully awakened Buddha.
Green Tara puts out her right foot in this brocade thangka, indicating that she is ready to assist anybody who invokes her name or mantra. She reaches out to everyone and fulfills their dreams. She is recognized as the first free woman since she is one of Tibetan Buddhism's most adored deities. Her practices are profoundly exercised in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

All Tantra traditions, including Nyingma and Sarma, practice her ten-syllable mantra and the brief tantra book called 'Twenty-one Praise of Tara' delivered by the Buddha Samantabhadra.
Her principal function is to save sentient creatures from the dangers of eight to sixteen various fears.
