Thangka Of Green Tara also known as Female Buddha

Green Tara is also known as Female Buddha who attained Enlightenment. The Thangka is painted, choosing the color palette carefully to create a soothing effect for the practitioner while visualizing and maintaining harmony. Our artist has portrayed lush green-colored Tara seated on a Lotus throne built with traditional artifacts decorated with various types of floras. She is wearing multi-colored and textured costumes and precious ornaments. Behind her graceful face is her vibrant blue halo with an embellished golden motif. A blue nimbus closest to her body with embellished silver golden textured behind it.

Green Tara is the female counterpart of Avalokiteshvara and is believed to be the Nepali princess, whereas the White Tara is believed to be a Chinese princess. The Tibetan tradition maintains that Mother Tara incarnates in every pious woman. Some consider her the original Tara and the female consort of Amoghasiddhi, one of the Dhyani Buddhas.
