Description
Guru Rinpoche Thangka, A Traditional Karma Gadri Painting
The karma Gadri style Thangka painting of Guru Rinpoche portrays his white complexion with a pinkish hue, very peaceful, and wearing a monk's hat. He is seated on a lotus seat rising from the lake with his right hand in a mudra holding a vajra and his left hand holding a skull cup. The substantial part of the landscape is dominated by rippling water flowing from the mountains, studded with precious offerings. The clouds that look like coving the waterfall visualize the serenity from the thangka. The transparent Nimbus behind his body reflects his divinity with richly patterned robes in a king posture.

Note: The Guru Padmasambhava Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio, located at Boudha Stupa.
Padmasambhava was known as THE DEATHLESS LOTUS BORN. At the same time, Mandarva was the yogini, Pure Awareness Holder of Immortality, and the Maiden of the White Conch.
Their accomplishment also transformed Maratika Cave. In the rock, there appeared the lifelong vase of Amitayus and a stone Garuda (mythical bird). The cave wall bears the imprints of the bodies of Amitayus and Guru Rinpoche.
