Emptiness and wisdom are inseparably linked, as Hevajra emphasizes in his yab-yum union with his consort Nairatmya. Hevajra is considered sacred by devotees for his function as a mentor leading to enlightenment, liberation, and spiritual insight. Hevajra is a key figure in the esoteric practices of Vajrayana Buddhism, and rituals and practices dedicated to him frequently involve the recitation of mantras and visualizations to invoke his compassionate and transformative energies.
